Training Workshops

#RUNTHECITY Training Workshops are a series of three FREE workshops, designed to ensure you have your best possible ASB Auckland Marathon race on Sunday October 29.
Hosted by running experts GetRunning and Sports Lab, over the three workshops you will learn about:

  • How to structure your training 
  • Training tips specific to the ASB Auckland Marathon course 
  • Injury prevention and recovery tips
  • Training and race day nutrition tips and strategies
  • Anything else you want to know, you will have the opportunity to ask plenty of questions! 

At the end of each workshop, we’ll head outside for a group run, so make sure you wear your running kit. Pacers will be provided from slow to pro! These fun and informative workshops are designed to ensure you are ready to #RUNTHECITY, no matter what distance you are targeting or level of running experience you have - everyone is welcome!

Time: 6 - 7pm
Location: ASB Head Office, in the Cube Auditorium (level 1), 12 Jellicoe St, North Wharf. 
Topic: Training structure, correct training stress and a physiotherapists aspect on training stress and prevention. 5km group run.

Time: 6 - 7pm
Location: ASB Head Office, in the Cube Auditorium (level 1), 12 Jellicoe St, North Wharf. 
Topic: Training nutrition and race day fueling. 40min group interval and technique session in Vic Park.

Time: 6 - 7pm
Location: ASB Head Office, in the Cube Auditorium (level 1), 12 Jellicoe St, North Wharf. 
Topic: Breaking down the course and getting your body ready for race day. Easy Group Run with stride outs.

Official Lead Up Series

Run & Walk Events

Get prepared for the 2017 ASB Auckland Marathon with the Official Run & Walk lead up series. A series package can also include a guaranteed entry into the 2017 ASB Auckland Marathon.

The Run Walk Series is a series of mainly on-road events designed for runners and walkers of all abilities, including kids, who are in training for any of the ASB Auckland Marathon events. Distances progress during the Series in an ideal build up to the big day on 29th October, no matter which event you are training for. The Series is conducted in a lap format so you can practice your pacing, lap times and hydration at regular intervals.
