|Minimum Age||Open to all ages. All participants between the ages of 0 - 9 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the event and the accompanying adult takes full responsibility for the safety of the entrant 9 years or under. Participants over the age of 10 can complete the course without an accompanying adult. Single baby buggies only (not double or triple) will be allowed. The occupant of the baby buggy cannot walk in the event and will not be charged an entry fee.|
|Cut-off time||The course will officially close at 1:00pm.|
|Timing Results||Timing results will be provided by age group category for both runners and walkers, and will be based on participant's mat time. The 5km Challenge age group categories are as follows for men and women; 0-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years, 75+ years|
|Prizes||Spot prizes will be awarded at random on the day.|
|Walkers||Walkers are welcome to enter in the 5km Challenge. Please ensure walkers start at the back behind the runners and keep to the left at all times.
The Heart Foundation 5km Challenge takes in Westhaven Marina, the Tank Farm and Viaduct Harbour before turning onto Fanshawe Street for a finish at Victoria Park. The course is best described as flat.
* All start times and event courses are subject to change dependent on road conditions and road availability. The start times and event courses will be confirmed in advance of the event and course description and maps will be updated with the final event course.
Please note - the busway and motorway section is only available to runners on race day. It is illegal to be on these sections of the course at any other time.
