Run as a Charity Hero!

MAKE YOUR FOOTSTEPS COUNT - RUN FOR THE CHARITY YOU LOVE!

Get involved to help us raise our target of $1.2 million for New Zealand charities!

Last year ASB Auckland Marathon participants raised nearly $1 million and we want to better that in 2019!

Supporting charity in the event is about so much more than just the money you raise - it’s about the time and effort you put into supporting your cause and getting their message out there that makes a real difference.

There are 2 options available for you to run the ASB Auckland Marathon for your favourite charity – either through becoming a Charity Hero runner, or by simply raising funds for a cause close to your heart.

ASB Charity Hero Programme

Apply with one of our Official Charity Partners for an exclusive Charity Hero Race Package which includes the following benefits, in exchange for a minimum fundraising commitment:

  • Free entry into the race of your choice
  • Complimentary transport to the start line by ferry or bus

  • Exclusive Charity Hero medal

You can always enquire about upgrading to be a Charity Hero later.

Silver - CatWalk

Imagine a world free from spinal cord injury paralysis. This is the vision of The CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Research Trust and we need your help.

Since 2005 our mission has been to raise funds to support innovative, world-class spinal cord injury (SCI) research to repair damage and cure spinal cord injury. We are determined to translate these discoveries into treatments which restore movement, feeling and function to those injured. With targeted funding and global collaboration, research exploration will accelerate to enable those living with SCI to walk again.

Scientists agree unanimously, injured nerve cells in the spinal cord can be regenerated and “paralysis” following SCI will become a thing of the past. However researchers cannot make life-changing discoveries without you.

By supporting CatWalk as you take on the ASB Auckland Marathon, you help us to provide funding for innovative research, to acquire cutting-edge technology and to drive pioneering scientific exploration.

To apply for a Charity Hero place email info@catwalk.org.nz or visit www.catwalk.org.nz for more information.

Thank you!

Silver - Starship

Every day extraordinary things happen at Starship. Join Team Starship for the 2019 Auckland Marathon and be extraordinary too. You can choose your distance. You can run or walk. You can be an inspiration and make a real difference for Starship kids. Let's get going!

Every year Starship has over 130,000 patient visits from children from all over New Zealand. More than half of these children are below the age of five. The Starship Foundation raises funds so that Starship Children’s Health can better care for these young patients. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have helped enable better health and brighter futures for all of these children.

“Running the Auckland Marathon as a member of Team Starship was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and something I'll never forget. It provided a greater sense of purpose - and meant I was doing so much more than running for the sake of running.” Lee Stace, Team Starship 2016

We are raising money to help bring better health and brighter futures to our children and, if you're up for it, we'd love to have you on our team! To apply for a Charity Hero spot in Team Starship, please click the link below or email Fathin at fathind@adhb.govt.nz

Bronze - KidsCan

When it comes to education, 254,000 Kiwi kids don’t line up on the start line with their peers. Poverty holds them back. They arrive at school without the basics, like food and warm clothes, that they need before they can focus on learning. KidsCan is running for them. Join us!

KidsCan provides breakfast, hot lunches, nourishing snacks, warm jackets, sturdy shoes and essential health items like sanitary products to 740 schools nationwide. Our programmes boost attendance and participation, and improve students’ wellbeing. We also have a new programme supporting pre-schoolers to get the best start in life. We do this because education is a child’s ticket out of poverty. We will help break the cycle of hardship by removing barriers to learning.

It’s our first year being part of the Auckland Marathon, and we’d love you to run or walk with a very enthusiastic KidsCan team. Help us create brighter futures for Kiwi kids in need. To join our Charity Hero team, visit: https://www.kidscan.org.nz/events/asb-auckland-marathon-2019#

Join team KidsCan for the 2019 Auckland Marathon and help kids in hardship with every step you take.

Your support will provide nourishing food, warm clothing and essential health items - so kids can just focus on school.
