|Cut-off time||Due to course management and strict conditions to reopen the Auckland Harbour Bridge, there is a cut-off point at Smales Farm, 9km, 8.15am.
The course will officially close at 1:00pm
Barfoot and Thompson Half Marathon participants wishing to ensure they make the Bridge by cut off time should have cleared the following support stations by the following times:
|Timing Results||Timing results will be provided by age group category. Half marathon age group categories are as follows for men and women; 16-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years, 75+ years|
|Prizes||All half marathon finishers will receive a finisher medal. Product prizes are offered for the top 5 male and females overall runners and the first three runners in each age group category. View more information on prize money here.|
|Walkers||Walkers are welcome to enter the Half Marathon and will be issued a specific walkers race bib. The walking category is for participants who intend to walk the entire course and compete against other ‘walkers’. If you intend to run even one step on the course please register as a ‘runner’.
Please ensure walkers start at the back behind the runners and keep to the left at all times.
|Race Rules||After careful consideration and in consultation with local authorities, due to Health and Safety and logistical concerns on the course, all forms of wheeled conveyance including but not limited to cycles, roller blades, prams/buggies, skate-boards etc are not permitted to enter or participate in the event. Accompanying animals are not allowed on the course.|
The Barfoot & Thompson Half Marathon course runs from Devonport on Auckland's North Shore, through Takapuna to the Smales Farm Bus Station where it joins the Busway southbound to the Auckland Harbour Bridge. After crossing the Bridge, the course takes in Westhaven Marina, the Wynyard Quarter before finishing at Victoria Park. The course is best described as "rolling".
* All start times and event courses are subject to change dependent on road conditions and road availability. The start times and event courses will be confirmed in advance of the event and course description and maps will be updated with the final event course.
Please note - the busway and motorway section is only available to runners on race day. It is illegal to be on these sections of the course at any other time.
